Reptiles are slimy, scaley, cold blooded animals that bring a tingle to almost every warm blooded human. When thinking of reptiles, lizards and snakes generally come to mind. They are poisonous and in deed very scary. However, not all reptiles can be classed as such. There are four orders that reptiles can be grouped into: Crocodilia, Sphenodontia, Squamata, Testudines.
Of the four reptiles groups the Testudines group is probably the most loved by humans. They are the Turtles and Tortoises. There are many types of turtles. Ones that live on land, ones that habitat the sea. Herbivores and Omnivores. Yes, even though they are cute and adorable, some turtles do eat meat.
The most famous turtles are perhaps the cartoon incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were fun loving, karate chopping turtles that fought crime and ate pizza. Other famous reptiles include the crocodile from Peter Pan and Godzilla – the giant reptile.
